How medical knowledge is acquired and whether increased medical knowledge is associated with better patient-relevant outcomes will be explored. Data related to learning, amount of knowledge, patient outcomes, certification, and maintenance of certification (MOC) will be presented.
1. To review evidence related to medical knowledge acquisition in GME.
2. To review evidence related to medical knowledge acquisition among practicing physicians after formal training.
3. To review evidence of association between certification and MOC with patient-relevant outcomes.
4. To briefly describe The ABIM Knowledge Check-in available in Pulmonary in 2019.
